‘American Idol’ Renewed For Season 25: Here’s When Auditions Open

American Idol has been renewed for its landmark 25th season on ABC, with the show streaming next day on Disney+ and Hulu. Once live shows begin, episodes will also stream live on Disney+. Details on the host and judges for Season 25 will be announced at a later date.

The search for the next superstar kicks off Aug. 25 with the return of “Idol Across America,” the live virtual nationwide audition tour. Contenders can audition on any date regardless of location, and video auditions will be accepted for those who cannot attend their state’s specific date. Auditions are open worldwide to all eligible contestants, who must be 15 or older by Feb. 15, 2027. Registration and full eligibility details are available at americanidol.com/auditions.

The renewal comes off a strong Season 24. The season premiere drew 6.22 million total viewers, the show’s biggest season premiere in four years.
