Prime Video has announced four new series regulars joining Young Sherlock for its second season, with Olivia Williams, Indira Varma, Sophie Skelton and Aidan Gillen all coming aboard. Season 2 is currently in production, with Guy Ritchie returning to direct the first episode.
According to the official description, the series is “an irreverent, action-packed mystery that charts the legendary origin story of the world’s greatest detective.”
The casting new after in Season 1, the series reached 45 million viewers in its first 28 days and ranks among the top 10 Prime Original Seasons of all time, per Prime Video. It hit No. 1 in over 95 countries, with 63% of its audience coming from international markets and notable overperformance in the U.K., India and Germany. The Season 1 trailer also broke a Prime Video record as the most-watched series trailer in its first seven days, reaching 223 million views.
A premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been announced. All eight episodes of Season 1 are currently streaming on Prime Video.
