MobLand is on its way back. Paramount+ has released the teaser and first-look images for Season 2 of the hit crime drama, with Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren all returning. The ten-episode second season premieres this fall.

What happens in Season 2 of ‘MobLand’?

According to the official description, Season 2 sees “the Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire — and Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer’, must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.”

Who stars in Season 2 of ‘MobLand’?

Hardy returns as Harry Da Souza alongside Brosnan and Mirren as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan. The cast also includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones.

The series is executive produced by David C. Glasser, Guy Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Hardy, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Keith Cox. The series is produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.

When does ‘MobLand’ Season 2 premiere?

MobLand Season 2 premieres Sept. 18 on Paramount+.

Hardy’s return to the series comes after a month of behind-the-scenes turbulence. In May, Deadline and Variety both reported that Hardy would not return for a potential Season 3, citing friction between the actor and showrunner Jez Butterworth that had “escalated to a point where the two could no longer work together,” per Deadline. Chronic lateness to set was reported as one of the key points of contention. However, Hardy, Butterworth and executive producer David Glasser subsequently met in London to resolve their differences, and as Deadline first reported and Variety confirmed, Hardy is now set to return for a potential Season 3. That season has not been formally announced, though a writers’ room is already open, per Deadline.
