Netflix has renewed Nemesis for a second season, the crime drama from showrunner and creator Courtney A. Kemp and co-creator Tani Marole.
Kemp told Netflix’s Tudum, “I feel blessed to get a season two. We thank the fans… it’s because of them — there’s no other reason. It’s them showing up, them talking about it and their huge social media response… We are grateful to Netflix for recognizing the power of our audience and bringing us back for the fans.”
Marole added, “Season two, we’re very grateful to have it… We’re going to make sure those questions get answered — and even more questions are available for you to answer… Make no mistakes, season two is going to be bigger and better.”
Netflix VP of Studio Scripted Series Nne Ebong said in a statement, “Courtney and Tani have built something truly special with Nemesis — a show that captivated audiences and never let go. Watching the global response has been extraordinary; this series resonated with fans in a way that was electric and far-reaching.”
What is ‘Nemesis’ about?
According to the official description, “Nemesis is the story of two men on either side of the law, the tale of what happens when an unstoppable force (an expert criminal) meets an immovable object (a brilliant police detective). What starts as a crime series amped with thrilling life-or-death stakes and explosive action drives deeper to explore family, marriage, and personal identity — that which drives us, sustains us, and ultimately destroys us.”
Who stars in ‘Nemesis’?
Season 1 series regulars include Matthew Law, Y’lan Noel, Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Domenick Lombardozzi, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Michael Potts, Sophina Brown, Cedric Joe and Jeff Pierre, with guest stars including Quincy Isaiah, Mark Feuerstein and Chris Bauer, among others.
Kemp serves as showrunner, creator and executive producer alongside Marole as co-creator and executive producer. Chris Selak and Philipp Barnett also executive produce. Mario Van Peebles directed the first two episodes and also serves as executive producer on those episodes, with Millicent Shelton, Rob Hardy and Ruben Garcia also directing.
