NBC has released a trailer and key art for Line of Fire, the family law enforcement drama marking Peter Krause’s first television role since departing 9-1-1 in 2025.
Krause plays Mike Hollingsworth, a Secret Service agent, alongside Hope Davis as his wife, Jane, a U.S. Marshal. Their children include Kat Cunning’s Clare, an FBI agent, Tommy O’Brien’s Micah, also with the Secret Service, and Taylor Bloom’s Russ, a Department of Justice analyst.
What is ‘Line of Fire’ about?
The description states that the series is about “a family of law enforcement agents bridges personal differences and crosses professional boundaries as they tackle cases for the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice. After a seemingly cut-and-dry case turns into a deadly conspiracy, they must use the expertise from a lifetime of protecting civilians and politicians to protect one another and bring the killer to justice … even if it means betraying their sworn code.”
Krause and showrunner Josh Safran discussed the series during a panel alongside executive producers Ben Spector and Jenna Bush Hager, according to Deadline. Safran compared the tone of the show to The West Wing and The Diplomat.
Krause described the family dynamic driving the series’ conflict, saying, “It’s fascinating to see [Davis] with the kids, who are these young actors that aren’t really kids? We call them kids. I think they’re all going to be big stars. Tommy O’Brien and Kat Cunning and Taylor Bloom, they’re all just fantastic in their roles.”
Josh Safran created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Bush Hager and Spector. Rebecca Thomas directed the pilot and also executive produces. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
When does ‘Line of Fire’ premiere?
Line of Fire premieres Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, streaming the next day on Peacock.
