Alex Ullom has set cast for 4×4: The Event, his second feature for Neon, with the news breaking ahead of the release of his debut film, It Ends, this weekend.
As Deadline reports, the eight-person cast includes Sophia Lillis, Dylan Minnette, Marcel Ruiz, Quintessa Swindell, Maddie Phillips, Mitchell Cole, Jaden Smith and Jacob Tremblay. Their character details haven’t been disclosed.
Per Deadline, the film “follows eight contestants as they enter an illegal sensory-assault livestream where they must kill or be killed using only what they can order online.” Production on the film has already wrapped.
Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios are producing under their existing multi-title partnership, working alongside Divide/Conquer and Phobos. Neon picked up worldwide rights to the project earlier this year. Roy Lee and Steven Schneider produce for Spooky Pictures, joined by Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath of Divide/Conquer, Chris Ferguson and Osgood Perkins of Phobos, Haley Johnson of Under the Shell, and Evan Barber of Barbershop. Ben Ross executive produces for Image Nation Studios, with Jakob Pollack, Rami Yasin and Simmy Wolf executive producing for Spooky Pictures, and Jesse Savath and Marlaina Mah executive producing for Phobos Pictures.
Ullom’s debut, It Ends, centers on four recent college graduates whose late-night food run turns into a nightmare. Phinehas Yoon, Akira Jackson, Noah Toth and Cole star, and the film hits theaters this week.
