20th Century Studios and Imagine Entertainment have released the teaser trailer for Whalefall, a survival thriller about a young man swallowed by a sperm whale. The film opens in theaters this fall.
What is ‘Whalefall’ about?
According to the official description, the film follows Jay Gardiner (Abrams) who, following the death of his father (Josh Brolin), goes diving off the California coast in search of his remains, only to be swallowed by a massive sperm whale. “While trapped inside its belly with only one hour of oxygen left, Jay comes to realize that the hard-earned lessons his father imparted may be the key to his escape.”
The film is directed by Brian Duffield from a screenplay by Duffield and Daniel Kraus, based on Kraus’ novel. The cast also includes Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy and Emily Rudd. Produced by Brian Grazer, Duffield, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum.
When does ‘Whalefall’ open in theaters?
Whalefall opens in theaters Oct. 16.
