Magnolia Pictures has released the trailer for I Want Your Sex, the new erotic comedy thriller from director Gregg Araki.
The film marks Araki’s first feature in over a decade, premiering at this year’s Sundance Film Festival where Magnolia acquired the U.S. distribution rights for seven figures after a bidding war, according to Deadline.
What is ‘I Want Your Sex’ about?
According to the official description, the film follows Elliot (Hoffman), a fresh-faced young man who lands a job for renowned artist and provocateur Erika Tracy (Wilde). His fantasies come true as Erika taps him to become her sexual muse. But Elliot soon finds himself out of his depth as Erika takes him on a journey more profound than he ever could have imagined, into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal and murder.”
Araki said of the film after Sundance: “This has been a pure labor of love from Day 1, and everyone at Magnolia is as pumped and excited as I am to get the film out there for audiences across the country to enjoy, react to and talk about,” per Deadline.
Who stars in ‘I Want Your Sex’?
Alongside Wilde and Hoffman, the cast includes Charli XCX, Mason Gooding, Chase Sui Wonders, Daveed Diggs, Margaret Cho and Johnny Knoxville. The film is written by Karley Sciortino and Araki and produced by Seth Caplan, Sciortino, Araki and Teddy Schwarzman for Black Bear Pictures.
