Apple TV+ has revealed the new and returning guest star lineup for Season 2 of Murderbot, the sci-fi comedy starring Alexander Skarsgård.
The lineup includes John Cho, Jack McBrayer, Kali Reis, Clark Gregg, DeWanda Wise, Blair Underwood, Griffin Newman, Jason George, Topher Grace, Patton Oswalt, Brendan Hunt, Nicholas Braun, Britne Oldford, Katy O’Brian, Bridget Everett, Michael Sheen, Wanda Sykes, Martha Plimpton, Tramell Tillman and Steve Buscemi.
Skarsgård returns alongside Season 1 main cast members Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones and Tamara Podemski.
What is ‘Murderbot’ about?
Based on the first novella in Martha Wells’ Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book series, per the official description, “Murderbot is a sci-fi thriller/comedy about a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients.” Skarsgård plays the title character, who per the official description “must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.”
Who is behind ‘Murderbot’?
Chris and Paul Weitz created the series and write, direct and executive produce under their Depth of Field banner, with Andrew Miano also executive producing for Depth of Field. David S. Goyer executive produces alongside Keith Levine for Phantom Four, with Wells serving as consulting producer. The series hails from CBS Studios.
At the time of the Season 2 renewal, the Weitz brothers said, “We’re so grateful for the response that Murderbot has received, and delighted that we’re getting to go back to Martha Wells’ world to work with Alexander, Apple, CBS Studios and the rest of the team.”
