Jack “Rome” Seymour became the second houseguest evicted from Big Brother Season 28 on CBS, and he’s giving his thoughts on if he thinks that Angela Murray and others in the house overstated his influence, with Angela even calling his side of the house the “Roman Empire.”
The nickname originated with Angela, who grew convinced that Rome had built a sprawling network of loyalists inside the house and worked to convince her own allies the threat was real. Rome doesn’t deny he had numbers behind him, but he says the size and structure of his influence got exaggerated well beyond what actually existed.
“Honestly, I think my influence in the house, the Roman Empire was a little bit overstated,” he said in an exit interview with BLKCinema.com. “I had a big group of people. I had, you know, the other half of the house that trusted me and saw me as the shield for them. So we were together, but we never had an alliance name, you know, we were never the ‘Roman Empire.’ So I think it was a little blown out of proportion.”
He also wanted to make sure to point out that he wanted to help his allies through the whole game and eventually be able to take shots at the other side of the house.
“I will say, I was gonna help them the whole way,” he explained. “I was gonna, you know, hopefully gather their trust to set out to go after the Toolshed alliance and attack them one day.”
In the end, he implies that his exit was really due to how his influence was perceived. “But overall, I think Angela got a little bit paranoid of the situation and blew it out of proportion,” he said.
