Mike Flanagan’s ‘Carrie’ Series At Prime Video Gets First Teaser, Premiere Date

Prime Video has set the premiere date for Carrie, Mike Flanagan’s series adaptation of Stephen King’s debut novel, revealing the news alongside a first teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con.

The teaser debuted at the top of the Comic-Con panel, with Flanagan closing out the event by revealing the premiere date and debuting new key art which features a nod to the infamous prom scene.

What is ‘Carrie’ about?

As previously reported, the series follows “misfit high-schooler Carrie White (Howell), who has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social-media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.”

Who stars in ‘Carrie’?

Howell leads alongside Sloyan, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle. Flanagan writes, executive produces and directs four episodes. Stephen King also executive produces. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

When does ‘Carrie’ premiere?

Carrie premieres Oct. 7 on Prime Video with all eight episodes.
