Netflix has released the trailer for the third and final season of Survival of the Thickest, with Michelle Buteau returning as Mavis Beaumont. The season features a stacked guest roster including Wanda Sykes, Garcelle Beauvais, Ice-T and D.L. Hughley, among others.
What is ‘Survival of the Thickest’ about?
According to the official description, the series “centers on Mavis Beaumont (Buteau). Black, plus-size, and falling in love while loving herself, Mavis works hard to grow her brand as a stylist and designer. She’s determined to not only survive but thrive with the support of her chosen family, a body-positive attitude, and a cute v-neck with some lip gloss.” The scripted comedy is inspired by Buteau’s acclaimed book of essays.

Buteau returns alongside series regulars Tone Bell and Marouane Zotti. Guest stars this season include Peppermint, Liza Treyger, Garcelle Beauvais, Wanda Sykes, D.L. Hughley, Ashley Graham, Ronny Chieng, Ice-T, Wyatt Cenac, Jenna Lyons, LaQuan Smith, Charles Harbison, Ashley Romans and RonReaco Lee, among others.
The series is created by Buteau and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, with Amy Aniobi serving as Season 3 showrunner and executive producer. A24 and Anne Hong for Mosaic also executive produce.
