Inaugural Entertainment and Live Nation Studios have released the trailer for Nimrods, a new coming-of-age comedy inspired by Green Day. The film reunites real-life couple Mason Thames and Mckenna Grace, who previously starred together in Paramount Pictures’ Regretting You. The film also features actual Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool and Mike Dirnt, who appear and perform in the film.
What is ‘Nimrods’ about?
According to the official description, the film follows three friends who journey to Los Angeles “mistakenly believing that their band is opening for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. Their road trip is a rowdy and mischievous jaunt across the country filled with adventures, based on the exploits of Green Day and their years of living in a tour van.” The film premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
Who stars in ‘Nimrods’?
The cast includes Thames, Grace, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Keen Ruffalo, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee and Sean Gunn.
Tim Perell produces alongside Green Day’s Armstrong, Dirnt and Tre Cool. Ryan Kroft, Michael Rapino and Jonathan Daniel executive produce for Live Nation Studios. The film is written and directed by Lee Kirk.
When does ‘Nimrods’ open in theaters?
Nimrods opens in theaters Aug. 14.
