Paramount+ has unveiled a first look at Season 2 of Diarra From Detroit, with creator and star Diarra Kilpatrick back on the case. The eight-episode season debuts with two episodes this summer, followed by weekly installments. The series was previously a BET+ original before the streamer folded into Paramount+.
What to know about the plot of Season 2 of ‘Diarra From Detroit’
According to the official description, Season 2 finds Diarra Brickland “trying — unsuccessfully — to have a hot girl summer without getting wrapped up in yet another deeply unserious and extremely dangerous Detroit mystery. This time around, what starts as a seemingly harmless furniture recovery mission quickly spirals into a triple homicide investigation, a citywide treasure hunt and another trip deep into Detroit’s criminal underbelly. As Diarra attempts to sort out her messy relationship status, she instead finds herself going undercover with a secret society, starring in a Tubi movie, chasing urban legends, dodging gang warfare, and uncovering secrets buried beneath the city itself.”
Who stars in Season 2 of ‘Diarra From Detroit’?
Kilpatrick returns alongside DomiNque Perry, Bryan Terrell Clark and Jon Chaffin, with Shannon Wallace, Phylicia Rashad and Harry Lennix also back. Guest stars this season include Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Morris Chestnut, Glynn Turman, Bokeem Woodbine, Amber Riley, Lil Rel Howery, Lovie Simone, Shoniqua Shandai, Nicco Annan and Jude Demorest, among others.
The series is executive produced by Kilpatrick, Kenya Barris and showrunner Miles Orion Feldsott, and produced by BET Studios and Khalabo Ink Society.

Diarra From Detroit Season 2 debuts July 29 on Paramount+ with two episodes, followed by weekly episodes every Wednesday through Sept. 9.
