Netflix has released the trailer for Tyler Perry’s Doing Life, the drama written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry, marking his latest film under his partnership with the streamer.

Per the official description, “A single mother fighting to survive and a reformed ex-con with untapped talent find in each other an unlikely second chance.”
Who stars in ‘Tyler Perry’s Doing Life’?
Naomi Baker and Jay Reeves lead the cast, alongside Tamberla Perry, Karen Obilom, Jasmine Sargent, Lucky Johnson and Danielle Moné Truitt.
The film reunites Perry with Reeves, who played Private Hugh Bell in The Six Triple Eight. His prior roles include his leading turn as 2020 playing former Clemson football player Ray McElrathbey in Disney+’s Safety, as well as a role in The CW’s All American. Baker previously appeared in All American: Homecoming.
Perry writes and directs, and produces alongside Tony L. Strickland and Angi Bones.
Doing Life falls under Perry’s eight-picture, first-look feature deal with Netflix, struck in October 2023. Films under the deal have include which spans four years, has already produced titles including Six Triple Eight, Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa, Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip and Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Destination Wedding, on top of earlier Perry-Netflix collaborations like Tyler Perry’s A Fall From Grace, Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming and A Jazzman’s Blues.
When does ‘Tyler Perry’s Doing Life’ premiere?
Tyler Perry’s Doing Life premieres Oct. 2 on Netflix, arriving less than a month after Perry’s Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? debuts Sept. 9, giving him two major Netflix releases within weeks of each other.
