Teyonah Parris Joins Apple Film ‘Running’ With Bryan Tyree Henry, Rhea Seehorn And More

Teyonah Parris is joining Running, the Apple Original Films drama from director Gavin O’Connor, starring Spike Fearn, Brian Tyree Henry and Rhea Seehorn. Deadline exclusively broke the news.

According to Deadline, the film follows a homeless high school running prodigy on the hunt for greatness as he uses his gifts to outrun his past and find a family. Bill Dubuque wrote the script based on a story by O’Connor and Dubuque, with Makeready and Waffle Iron Entertainment co-producing.

Parris’ casting marks a reunion with Apple, which is also releasing Matchbox the Movie, the upcoming live-action film inspired by Mattel’s toy line, opposite John Cena, Jessica Biel and Danai Gurira. Matchbox releases Oct. 9 on Apple TV.

Her recent credits include Netflix filmThey Cloned Tyrone, opposite John Boyega and Jamie Foxx, as well as the Netflix series No Good Deed, in which she played Carla Owens.

She’s also known for playing Monica Rambeau in Marvel’s WandaVision and later in The Marvels, alongside Brie Larson and Iman Vellani.
