Stacey Rusch says she wasn’t the one who brought the dating app rumor about Tia Glover’s husband to The Real Housewives of Potomac.
In the season premiere, Stacey tells Tia that her husband, Rob, is on a dating app, and much of the fallout has landed on Stacey. She spoke exclusively to BLKCinema.com about why she shared what she knew, where things stand with Tia and Wendy Osefo, the questions about her authenticity and the season’s explosive fight between Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger.

Stacey said Ashley Darby is the one who put the information in play.
“I didn’t bring it to the show. Ashley brought it to the show when she so publicly made fun of Tia,” she said. “Despite Tia and I not having a very close relationship, as a woman, I respect her, and I don’t want her to be publicly embarrassed. So I did what a woman would do, firstly, if you will, and then I really just acted as a friend, and I chose to just tell her what I had heard and what I knew in a private setting.”

Asked whether the moment could have been a fresh start with Tia, Stacey kept her answer open-ended.
“There is power in acceptance, and I think it’s gonna be very interesting to see the dynamics of our friendship this season, as well as all of the women,” she said. “Friendships have their highs and lows. So I think that we should buckle up and get ready for a long season, and we’ll see where we end up.”
She was similarly tight-lipped about Wendy, who she was close with last season.
“I think what’s really exciting about the entire season is seeing how each woman in this group navigates the definition of friendship and what that means to them,” she said. “I think that there will be friendships that blossom and continue to grow, and there will be friendships that maybe end. That’s the excitement of the show, so I can’t wait for everybody to see that. It’s going to be a wild ride.”

Karen recently said on Watch What Happens Live that she enjoyed working with Stacey, but wasn’t sure whether she was getting Stacey or “AI Stacey.” Stacey didn’t have much to add.
“I don’t know what that means either, but we’re all rooting for Karen,” she said.
Several castmates have questioned Stacey’s authenticity, including Tia, who told BLKCinema.com that Stacey is “very much in a sitcom.” Stacey said that’s for them to explain.
“I don’t know. I think that’s a question for them,” Stacey said. “I show up as the person who initially joined this group wanting to find friendship and sisterhood with a group of incredible women, and that is the basis of me being here, and it’ll also always be the basis of me being here. So if other people question that, I think that you’ll have to ask them.”
“My job is to live my life, be happy, be grateful for the incredible amount of blessings that God gives me every day that I wake up,” she continued. “I can’t worry about other people and what they think of me.”

Stacey said the clash teased in the trailer was hard to watch, and hinted that what follows is just as dramatic.
“It was hard to witness that. It was really difficult to see, because they’ve known each other for so many years,” she said. “But it was also difficult, but necessary, to watch what happens after that. So while that was very shocking, what happens following that is quite unbelievable as well.”
“Friendships have highs and lows, and certainly, that was truly a low,” she added. “But we’ll see what happens afterwards.”
