NBC has given its freshman drama Line of Fire a full 18-episode season order. The series follows a family of law enforcement agents who work cases across federal agencies, and it stars Peter Krause and Hope Davis.
According to NBC, the Sept. 21 pilot averaged more than 14 million viewers across platforms. The network says the premiere had its best DVR lift for a premiere episode in more than three years, since the Night Court reboot in January 2023.
NBC says Line of Fire grew its demo rating by 47% in its second week and reached a season-high demo rating in its most recent telecast on Oct. 19 (live plus same day). The network also says the series is its highest-reaching first-season series on Peacock after 28 days.
Per the official description, “A family of law enforcement agents bridges personal differences and crosses professional boundaries as they tackle cases for the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice. After a seemingly cut-and-dry case turns into a deadly conspiracy, they must use the expertise from a lifetime of protecting civilians and politicians to protect one another and bring the killer to justice … even if it means betraying their sworn code.”
The cast includes Peter Krause, Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom and Charlie Barnett.
Creator and writer Joshua Safran executive produces with Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces.
Line of Fire airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
