Lionsgate has released a new featurette for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping in celebration of Haymitch Abernathy’s birthday, featuring Joseph Zada as the young version of the character. The featurette includes behind-the-scenes footage and new soundbites from director Francis Lawrence, producer Nina Jacobson, Zada and co-stars Elle Fanning, Jesse Plemons, McKenna Grace and Ben Wang.

According to the official description, the film “will revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.”

Zada leads as young Haymitch Abernathy alongside Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, McKenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
Francis Lawrence directs from a screenplay by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie, based on Suzanne Collins’ novel. Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Lawrence produce.
