HGTV has announced Totally ’90s House, a six-episode renovation competition series hosted by Jaleel White, premiering this fall. Two teams of ’90s television stars will compete to find and renovate homes stuck in the decade, with a $25,000 charity prize on the line.
White said in a statement, “Everybody loves the ’90s again. The fits are back, the playlists are on repeat, and kids who weren’t even born yet are binge-watching the shows we made famous. We asked America to show us the homes still living in the past, and the response was incredible. Now it’s time for the ultimate throwback transformation.”
Who are the teams on ‘Totally ’90s House’?
Team one features Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills, 90210), Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) and Jodie Sweetin (Full House). Team two features Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Matthew Lawrence (Boy Meets World) and Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show), with help from Matthew’s brother Joey Lawrence (Blossom). Design mentors Carter Oosterhouse and Sabrina Soto will support both teams throughout the competition.
Who are the guest judges on ‘Totally ’90s House’?
A rotating lineup of HGTV stars and celebrities will judge each room transformation. Vern Yip evaluates the kitchen, Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt judge the primary bedroom, Drew Lachey assesses the primary bathroom, Mina Starsiak Hawk critiques the foyer and office and Paige Davis weighs in on the dining and living rooms. Designer Jonathan Adler tours each completed home and crowns the overall champion.
Timed to the premiere, HGTV will also launch House Call: ’90s Edition, a YouTube companion series in which a DIY expert helps celebrities tackle a home project. Six episodes are slated for late August. New episodes of Totally ’90s Housestream the next day on HBO Max.
