Apple TV has renewed Imperfect Women for a second season centered on Eleanor, the character played by Kerry Washington. The new chapter is set in Martha’s Vineyard, with Washington returning to star and executive produce. Elizabeth Moss, star of Season 1 is also executive producing Season 2.
Per the official description, “Based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, Imperfect Women examines a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women. In season two, Eleanor (Washington) returns to her hometown roots in the affluent [Black] enclave of Martha’s Vineyard, only to find that beneath [its] idyllic surface, lie secrets and scandals that threaten to upend everything she thought she knew about her past.”
Season 2 is based on an original idea rather than the novel.

Who is behind ‘Imperfect Women’ Season 2?
Creator Annie Weisman, who showran the first season, returns as co-showrunner alongside Justin Hillian, whose credits include The Chi and Snowfall. Weisman and Hillian also executive produce.
Washington executive produces through her Simpson Street banner with Pilar Savone. Moss and Lindsey McManus, who optioned the book, executive produce through Love & Squalor Pictures, alongside author Hall. The series is a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios.
Apple TV has not announced a premiere date for Season 2.
