AMC+ has released a sneak peek clip for Yaga, the mystery thriller series that reimagines the myth of Baba Yaga, starring Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid, Clark Backo and Hudson Williams.
Based on a play by Kat Sandler, who also serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer, the series follows Rapp (Reid), a private investigator who arrives in the small coastal town of Whittock to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Williams).
Per the official description, he finds himself at odds with “an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Clark Backo, Venom: The Last Dance, Letterkenny), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss, Matrix Films, Memento), and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic.”
Who stars in ‘Yaga’?
Reid, Backo, Moss and Williams lead the cast, alongside Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle and Hiro Kanagawa, along with Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris and Sam Krochmal.
David Frazee and Rachel Talalay co-direct. Mackenzie Donaldson, Andrew Miller and Moss executive produce, with Charles Cooper producing. The series is produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in association with Bell Media, with participation from the Canada Media Fund, the Rogers Series Fund and the Bell Fund.
When does ‘Yaga’ premiere at TIFF and NYCC
Yaga will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 17, followed by a panel at New York Comic Con on Oct. 9.
When does ‘Yaga’ premiere?
Yaga premieres with two episodes Oct. 23, on AMC+, with new episodes airing Fridays through a two-episode finale on Nov. 27.
