Hoorae, Issa Rae’s production company, and TikTok have launched The Compatibility Experiment, their second micro-series, a scripted take on reality dating shows hosted by Love Island USA icon JaNa Craig. All 68 episodes are available now on TikTok and PineDrama.
What is ‘The Compatibility Experiment’ about?
According to the official description, “The Compatibility Experiment is a 68-episode micro-series built specifically for vertical, in-feed viewing. [It] follows a couple desperately in need of money that thinks they can withstand anything and decides to test their relationship on a new Temptation Island-esque reality show. The main characters don’t have the money to live the lifestyle they want, and are willing to do anything to get closer to their dreams, deciding to pursue the game’s huge cash prize. But what happens when they put a price on their relationship?”
A first-look promo teased the premise by saying the couple at the center, Camila and Kelvin, “think they know reality shows. But with life-changing money on the line, this reality check hits different.”
Who stars in ‘The Compatibility Experiment’?
Craig hosts the series, her first time on the other side of a reality dating format. Tajh Bellow plays Kelvin and Loren Lott plays Camila. Craig and Bellow previously appeared together in the Credit One web series You’re the Credit One for Me. The cast also includes Ayona, Reggie Luck, Tosin Morohunfola, Jessica Jacoby, Georgia Warner and Nick Cassidy, among others.
The series comes from the content partnership between TikTok and Hoorae, which started with the micro-series Screen Time. Screen Time has reached nearly 580 million views on TikTok and PineDrama since its April debut, per the announcement.
The new series has integrated brand partners in poppi and Sol de Janeiro, whose products are worked into the story and into companion promotional vignettes.
