AMC+ has unveiled a first look teaser for Yaga, a mystery thriller series set to premiere this October, following a Comic-Con panel featuring stars Noah Reid and Clark Backo and showrunner Kat Sandler. The series is a Canadian import, where it air in Canada on Crave. Carrie-Anne Moss and Hudson Williams also star.
What is ‘Yaga’ about?
According to the official description, the series “follows Rapp (Reid), a private investigator who arrives in a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of a young heir to a powerful fishery, Henry Park (Hudson Williams). He finds himself at odds with an apprehensive local detective, Carson (Backo), a charismatic university professor with a taste for younger men, Katherine (Moss), and a labyrinth of enigmatic suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic.”
The series is based on a hit play by Sandler, who also serves as showrunner and writer, and reimagines the myth of Baba Yaga as a contemporary mystery thriller.
Who stars in ‘Yaga’?
Additional cast includes Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle and Hiro Kanagawa, among others.
David Frazee and Rachel Talalay co-direct. Mackenzie Donaldson, Andrew Miller and Moss executive produce. The Crave original series is produced by Blink49 Studios and Front Street Pictures in association with Bell Media, distributed internationally by Sphere Abacus and acquired exclusively by AMC Global Media for AMC+ in the United States.
