A24 has released the trailer for Misty Green, Chris Rock’s fourth feature as a director and his first since Top Five in 2014. The film world premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this September as a Gala Presentation before opening in theaters in October.
According to TIFF, the film “brilliantly satirizes the bigotry and hustle at the heart of Hollywood.” Rosalind Eleazar leads the film as its titular character. Per the film’s official description, “Years after her Hollywood breakthrough, a talented actress whose career has stalled fights for her second act.”
The film marks Rock’s return to the director’s chair following Head of State (2003), I Think I Love My Wife (2007), and Top Five.

Eleazar stars with Rock, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick Topher Grace and Tracie Thoms. Rock writes, directs and produces alongside Peter Rice and David Worthen Brooks. Macro Film Studios and Confluential Films also produce.
