‘Forever’ Season 2 Is In Production: Here’s What We Know About 3 New Stars

Netflix has officially begun production on the second season of Forever in Los Angeles. Beyond the start of production and some new casting additions, details remain slim. No premiere date has been set and plot details are limited, but here’s what we know so far.

Who is new in Season 2 of ‘Forever’?

Malaika Guttoh joins as a series regular, playing Ameena, with Avery Wills Jr. playing Jaden and Tre McBride playing Elijah, both as recurring guests. Returning series regulars include Lovie Simone, Michael Cooper Jr., Karen Pittman, Wood Harris and Xosha Roquemore. Additional casting has not yet been announced.

What is Season 2 of ‘Forever’ about?

Per the official description: “Can exes really be friends? Four years later, Justin and Keisha are doing pretty well post pandemic, new relationships, real jobs and adulting their big dreams, that is until they run into each other [in] summer 2023.”

Creator and showrunner Mara Brock Akil spoke to Tudum about what to expect from the new season: “Season 2 of Forever is in production and we are home, back in Los Angeles, back inside a love story that keeps revealing itself. This time, through friendship. Because when you’re standing at the edge of adulthood, staring into the abyss, it’s your real ones you want to run back to.”

Season 2 consists of 8 episodes. Mara Brock Akil, Regina King, Susie Fitzgerald, Reina King and Erika Harrison executive produce. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
