‘Widow’s Bay’ Renewed For Season 2 At Apple TV Ahead Of Season 1 Finale

Apple TV has renewed Widow’s Bay for a second season, with the Season 1 finale arriving next week. The streamer also announced a new multi-year overall deal with creator, showrunner and executive producer Katie Dippold.

Dippold said in a statement, “Season two is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.”

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV, said in a statement: “From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laughs, and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew, and the entire team have created. It’s become one of those shows everyone’s talking about, and we can’t wait to return for another season.”

What is ‘Widow’s Bay’ about?

According to the official description, the series follows Mayor Tom Loftis (Matthew Rhys), who is desperate to revive his struggling island community and turn it into a tourist destination. “Miraculously, he succeeds: tourists are finally coming. Unfortunately, the locals were right. After decades of calm, the old stories that seemed too ludicrous to be true start happening again.”

Who stars in ‘Widow’s Bay’?

Rhys leads the cast alongside Kate O’Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll and Dale Dickey, with K Callan and Jeff Hiller in supporting roles.

The series is created, showrun and executive produced by Dippold. Hiro Murai executive produces through Chum Films alongside Carver Karaszewski, Claudia Shin and Rhys. Murai directed five episodes of the first season, with Ti West, Sam Donovan and Andrew DeYoung also directing. Produced by Apple Studios.

When does the ‘Widow’s Bay’ Season 1 finale premiere?

The Widow’s Bay Season 1 finale arrives June 17 on Apple TV.
