Production is underway in Georgia on Thunder Road, a new NASCAR drama series from AMC Global Media, created by John Fusco and led by Dennis Quaid.
According to the official description, “Centered on family dynamics, fierce rivalries and the untold stories behind one of America’s most iconic sports, Thunder Road follows the multigenerational saga of the fictional Whitlock family, whose legacy in stock car racing is as deep as the family’s ties to the Southern hill country roots that shaped them.”
Who stars in ‘Thunder Road’?
Quaid stars as Duane Whitlock, alongside Chase Stokes as Ronnie Whitlock, Maggie Grace as Laney Whitlock, Matt Barr as Calvin Whitlock, West Duchovny as Cassie Whitlock, Shane McRae as Scooter Jakes and Jake Manley as Zak Farley.
Michael Rooker, James Wolk, Mackenzie Porter, Aspen Kennedy, musician Devon Allman, Josh Macqueen, Sandra Ellis Lafferty and Haley Dillon round out the cast in recurring and guest-starring roles.
Fusco created the series and executive produces, with Taylor Elmore serving as showrunner and executive producer. Cliff Roberts with Syndicate Entertainment, Mark L. Smith, and Tim Clark and John Dahl for NASCAR Studios also executive produce, with Gladys Cheng producing. The series is an AMC Studios production, with AMC Global Media holding worldwide rights.
When does ‘Thunder Road’ premiere?
Thunder Road is set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027.
