More than a decade after starring together in Baggage Claim, Paula Patton and Derek Luke are reuniting onscreen for Love on the Vineyard, a new Lifetime movie executive produced by Tracey E. Edmonds as part of the network’s “Love of a Lifetime” franchise. Janet Hubert also stars alongside Patton and Luke.
According to the official description, Patton stars as Jordan Wilson, “a successful Washington, D.C., commercial real estate executive who returns to Martha’s Vineyard with her teenage daughter after years away. There, Jordan reconnects with Eric Robinson (Luke), her former summer love, and becomes involved in a fight to save a beloved historic inn in Oak Bluffs, one that holds deep significance for the island’s Black community. As Jordan works to protect the property, she must navigate grief, family tensions, and the possibility of a second chance at love, discovering that preserving the past may be the key to embracing her future and reclaiming the love she thought she had lost forever.”
The film is set against the backdrop of Martha’s Vineyard and celebrates the cultural legacy of the Black community of Oak Bluffs.
Edmonds executive produces, alongside Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer and Fernando Szew for Fox Entertainment Studios. Tailiah Breon directs from a screenplay by Camille Tucker. The film is an Edmonds Entertainment and Fox Entertainment Studios production, with Fox Entertainment Global distributing internationally.
