Vertical has released the first teaser for Lords of War, the sequel to Andrew Niccol’s 2005 crime thriller Lord of War, with Nicolas Cage returning as arms dealer Yuri Orlov. Bill Skarsgård plays a mercenary mastermind building a private army.
According to the official description, Cage “reprises his role as Yuri Orlov, the world’s most notorious arms dealer.” The description continues, “When Yuri discovers a ruthless mercenary mastermind (Bill Skarsgård) bent on destroying his legacy is building a private army, he is thrust into a blood-soaked and bullet-riddled battle to the death. What begins as a shocking revelation ignites a fierce rivalry fueled by power, ambition, and betrayal.”
Cage and Skarsgård lead a cast that also includes Laura Harrier, Sylvia Hoeks and Greg Tarzan Davis.
Niccol wrote and directed the film. Philippe Rousselet, Fabrice Gianfermi, Niccol and Cage produce.
