NBC has announced The Voice: Celebrity, a special eventized season of the franchise set to air in 2027.
The season marks Season 31 of The Voice and swaps undiscovered talent for celebrities. According to the description, “An extension of the longstanding series, this special season swaps undiscovered talent for a wide range of celebrities – actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians, and reality television stars – competing to become the first ‘Voice’ celebrity champion. These celebrity artists will be announced at a later time.”
In a first for the franchise, Keke Palmer takes over hosting duties from Carson Daly, who will serve as a producer on the season. Joe Jonas also makes his coaching debut alongside returning coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green, who are back for back-to-back seasons following their upcoming run on Season 30 this fall. Palmer being tapped as host keeps her in the NBCU family, where she stars in The ‘Burbs for Peacock and co-hosts Password at NBC.
The season also introduces new features including Voice Boot Camp, which gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at celebrities preparing for their Blind Auditions, a VIP Room where artists watch fellow competitors perform in real time, and the Workroom, where artists strategize and rehearse ahead of the Battles.
The Voice: Celebrity is a presentation of MGM Alternative, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television and ITV Studios The Voice USA. The series was created by John de Mol, who executive produces alongside Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
