Fans digging into Love Island USA Season 8 cast members’ social media histories found something they weren’t expecting when they got to Bryce Dettloff’s Instagram, and they are completely here for it.
Resurfaced reshares from Bryce’s account show he previously shared content in support of transgender health as a human right and raised awareness about the war in Gaza, per The Tab.
Bryce appears to have since removed the posts from his highlights ahead of going on the show, but screenshots circulated quickly on social media after fans found them.

The reaction online was notably different from what the show’s cast has faced this season and in recent seasons. “This is the first time I’ve seen fans dig into an islander’s past and find something good,” one viewer wrote on X, per The Tab.
The finds also appear to align with the values of his current partner in the villa, Trinity Tatum. Per The Tab, Trinity previously wrote on her own social media about appreciating people who “never hesitate talking about the real issues in your stories/reels and u dgaf about losing followers.”

Bryce, 29, is a model and DJ from Los Angeles who entered the villa on Day 1 as an original islander, per The Hollywood Reporter. He coupled up with Trinity on night one and the two have remained together through the season’s early episodes.

The social media scrutiny Love Island USA Season 8 fans brought to Bryce’s page wasn’t the first time the internet had a fixation with him. Bryce began modeling as a teenager, doing shoots for Calvin Klein and DKNY, per The Hollywood Reporter, which earned him a small but devoted following on Tumblr and Wattpad during the mid-2010s, with fan accounts and fanfiction that used his modeling photos to cast him as fictional characters.
His Instagram at @brycealakai, where he has 160,000 followers as of publishing, still has the old photos up.
