Who Is In The ‘Among Us’ Animated Show Cast? Yvette Nicole Brown, Randall Park And More

,

Paramount+ surprise-dropped the Among Us animated series on June 5, with all ten episodes available to stream at once. The announcement came live at Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, where series stars Yvette Nicole Brown and Liv Hewson took the stage to reveal the show was already out.

Created by Owen Dennis and produced by CBS Studios and Innersloth, Among Us follows a crew of crewmates on a spaceship who must identify a shapeshifting impostor before it picks them off one by one — the same premise as the multiplayer game that hit nearly 500 million monthly active users at its peak in late 2020.

Who voices the characters in ‘Among Us’?

Brown voices Orange, Randall Park voices Red, Phil LaMarr voices Brown, and Debra Wilson voices both Yellow and Computer. The full cast also includes Kimiko Glenn as Cyan, Liv Hewson as Black, Ashley Johnson as Purple, Wayne Knight as Lime, Dan Stevens as Blue, Elijah Wood as Green, and Patton Oswalt as White.

Creator Owen Dennis told Gizmodo that casting was tricky given the characters all look nearly identical and have no visible mouth movement, making voice distinction essential.

“It was really important for us to make sure that we get actors who are very good and can express things using comedy, drama, or any direction that we need them to go,” Dennis said. “And also, their voice is unique enough that I know exactly which person is talking at any given moment.”

Why did ‘Among Us’ skip the memes?

Dennis told Gizmodo he made a conscious decision to avoid the meme-heavy humor associated with the game’s pandemic-era peak, calling references “the lowest tier of joke.”

“I want Among Us to stand on its own,” he said. “It has to be completely its own thing. If you can do that, then you can achieve something.”

Animation was handled by Titmouse, the studio behind Star Trek: Lower Decks.
