A new trailer is out for Jumanji: Open World, the third and final film in the rebooted Jumanji series, which reunites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan. This time, the game leaves its console and spills into the real world. It follows BLK Cinema’s coverage of the first trailer in July, and the film opens in theaters this holiday season.
Per the official synopsis, “Our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world.”
The film picks up directly from the ending of 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level, seven years later. Sony Pictures originally dated it for Dec. 11 before moving it to Christmas. It got its Open World title, along with a trailer, at CinemaCon.
The cast includes Johnson, Black, Hart, Gillan, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain and Madison Iseman, with Nick Jonas and Danny DeVito.
Jake Kasdan directs from a screenplay by Kasdan, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, based on Chris Van Allsburg’s book Jumanji. Matt Tolmach, Kasdan, Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia produce.
Barry Waldman, Melvin Mar, Sky Salem Robinson, Pinkner, Rosenberg, Van Allsburg, William Teitler, Ted Field and Mike Weber executive produce.
