Prime Video has released the trailer and first-look images for Love of Your Life, directed by Rachel Morrison and starring Margaret Qualley. The film premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this weekend.
What is ‘Love of Your Life’ about?
The official description reads, “Love of Your Life is an emotionally expansive and aspirational romance about transformative love, human connection, and the journey back to ourselves. Through romance, adventure, and self-discovery the film explores the idea that the greatest love story is not only about finding another person but learning how to fully love yourself.”
The film follows Maya (Qualley), whose chance encounter with Charlie (Gabriel Basso) sets off a sweeping romance and a future beyond anything she imagined, according to the official description. When that future is suddenly upended, Maya is sent toward an unexpected new life, one that forces her to confront who she is, what she wants and how to love again.
Morrison said the story is personal to her, saying in a statement, “The idea that on the other side of profound grief can lie profound appreciation and gratitude is very real and very personal for me. I’ve had a lot of loss in my life, but that loss has been offset by so much love and vitality.”
Qualley leads the cast as Maya, alongside Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Basso, Catherine Keener, Tamara Lawrance and Corey Johnson.
Morrison directs from a screenplay by Julia Cox. Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson produce. Dustin O’Halloran composes the score, with Jill Taylor as costume designer, Jennifer Vecchiarello as editor, Laura Ellis Cricks as production designer and Todd Banhazl as director of photography.
When does ‘Love of Your Life’ premiere?
Love of Your Life opens in select theaters on Oct. 7, followed by a streaming premiere on Prime Video on Oct. 14.
