HBO has released the second teaser trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first season of its Harry Potter series, following an earlier first look at the series that appeared in an HBO Max promo reel earlier this year.
Per the official description, “There is nothing special about Harry Potter — or so his Aunt Petunia tells him. But when a mysterious letter of admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry arrives, it opens the door to a hidden world of magic, friendship and adventure. Yet behind Hogwarts’ enchanted walls lie dark secrets. Harry must find the courage to prove himself against the darkest wizard of all.”
Who stars in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’?
Dominic McLaughlin stars as Harry Potter, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The cast also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Warwick Davis as Filius Flitwick and Sirine Saba as Pomona Sprout, among others.
Additional cast includes Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.
Francesca Gardiner writes and executive produces the series, based on J.K. Rowling’s books. Mark Mylod executive produces and directs multiple episodes. J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films also executive produce. The series is produced for HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
