Colman Domingo will star in The Headlands House, a new thriller limited series that landed at Netflix after a competitive bidding situation. The news was reported by Deadline, which also states that the project comes from AMC Studios.
What is ‘The Headlands House’ about?
Per Deadline, “a marriage begins to fracture after a gay couple moves into their dream home, only to discover that its prior residents were brutally murdered on the property — and that their own lives may now be in danger, too.”
Cameron B. Dupont writes and executive produces. Domingo and Raúl Domingo executive produce through Edith Productions, alongside Patrick Moran through PKM Productions.
This is Domingo’s third Netflix series, after the 2024 limited series The Madness and the comedy The Four Seasons, which has brought him two Emmy nominations. He’s also worked with the streamer on films, including his Oscar-nominated turn in Rustin, plus Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and the upcoming An Innocent Girl.
Deadline reports that AMC Studios’ involvement traces back to Domingo’s long history with the network, from starring Victor Strand across eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead, to an existing first-look deal Edith Productions holds there. The outlet notes the deal also reflects AMC Studios pushing further into producing for outside platforms.
Edith Productions, which Domingo co-founded with his husband Raúl Domingo, has also produced projects such as Sing Sing, It’s What’s Inside, Dead Man’s Wire and more.
