Paramount+ has officially started production on Discretion, the legal thriller starring Niole Kidman, Elle Fanning and Josh Lucas. Thursday’s production announcement also served as a revealed that Stephan James and Colton Ryan have joined the cast as series regulars. Paramount+ also released a script image.
What is ‘Discretion’ about?
Per the official description, “Discretion is a legal thriller about a summer associate Lenny at a prestigious Dallas law firm who uncovers a web of NDAs masking a dark truth. When she realizes she signed the same agreement, her discoveries put her in the crosshairs of the firm’s most powerful female partner Sharon (Kidman) — upending their mentor-protégé dynamic and raising the question: who gets to keep secrets, and at what cost.”
Who stars in ‘Discretion’?
Kidman stars as Sharon, alongside Fanning as Lenny and Lucas in a previously announced role. James joins as Logan, described as “a sharp corporate associate who becomes a mentor to Lenny,” per the official description. Ryan joins as Boone, Lenny’s ex-boyfriend, “a recovering addict from an affluent Dallas family, now nine months sober living at a halfway house while quietly trying to rebuild his life,” per the official description.
The series is adapted from a short story by Chandler Baker, who also writes and executive produces. Susannah Grant executive produces alongside Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures, Joe Hipps for Cut To, and Jordan Cerf for Linden Entertainment. Matt Shakman executive produces and directs the first four episodes. A24 produces.
When does ‘Discretion’ premiere?
Discretion launches on Paramount+ in 2027.
