A new teaser has been released for If I Go Will They Miss Me, the Sundance breakout film starring Danielle Brooks and J. Alphonse Nicholson, with MACRO Film Studios’ Charles D. King and James Lopez as executive producers.
What is ‘If I Go Will They Miss Me’ about?
Per the official description, “in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, twelve-year-old Lil Ant sees the world and his father the way all children should — full of myth, wonder, and unwavering belief.” The film is described as “a breathtaking father-son story about imagination, family, and the grace we extend to the people we love.”

Brooks and Nicholson lead the cast, joined by newcomer Bodhi Dell.
Walter Thompson-Hernández writes and directs, with a song featured from Jon Batiste. Josh Peters, Saba Zerehi and Ben Stillman produce. Robina Riccitiello, Steven Beckman, Isaac Ericson, Jennifer J. Pritzker, Sakurako Fisher, Meredith Crowley, Jonathan Weiner, Grace Lay, Tyler Bagley, Jack Chinery, Brooks, Nicholson, Batiste, Ryan Lynn, King and Lopez executive produce. Rich Spirit distributes. The film premiered at Sundance to strong reviews and audience response.
When does ‘If I Go Will They Miss Me’ premiere?
If I Go Will They Miss Me opens with a special engagement in Los Angeles on Sept. 11, followed by a nationwide release in more than 30 markets on Sept. 18.
