‘Victorian Psycho’ Trailer: Maika Monroe, Thomasin McKenzie, Jason Issacs And Ruth Wilson In Cannes Horror Hit

Bleecker Street has released the new trailer for Victorian Psycho, the period horror-comedy from director Zachary Wigon that premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard competition. The film opens in theaters in September.

The project is the third feature from Wigon, and is produced by Dan Kagan, who also produced Longlegs, under his Traffic banner, as Deadline reported.

The screenplay is by Virginia Feito, adapting her own bestselling novel of the same name.

What is ‘Victorian Psycho’ about?

Set in 1858, the film follows Winifred Notty (Monroe), an eccentric governess who arrives at the remote gothic manor Ensor House. As she assimilates into the household and begins teaching the children, staff members start inexplicably disappearing — and the owners begin to wonder if their new governess is hiding something far more sinister than a prim exterior.

Who stars in ‘Victorian Psycho’?

Monroe leads alongside Thomasin McKenzie as nurse Ms. Lamb, Ruth Wilson, Jason Isaacs, Jacobi Jupe and Evie Templeton. Dan Kagan, Sébastien Raybaud and Wigon produce.
