‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ Gets Premiere Date And First Teaser

Avatar: Seven Havens has released its first teaser and announced an Oct. 9 premiere date on Paramount+, with the reveal coming during the Avatar franchise’s first-ever Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Wednesday.

Seven Havens is the latest chapter in the Avatar franchise and the third animated series overall which began with the iconic Avatar: The Last Airbender series in 2005 and ran for three seasons, and continued with The Legend of Korra from 2012 to 2014, which ran for four seasons. Original creators of the first series, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko (who created Korra as well), are back for this one too.

It arrives the same year as Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, the new animated film also on Paramount+, which premieres July 25. Wednesday’s Hall H panel featured Aang cast members Eric Nam, Dave Bautista, Román Zaragoza, Jessica Matten and Dionne Quan alongside co-creators DiMartino and Konietzko and director Lauren Montgomery, moderated by Janet Varney, the original voice of Korra.

According to the official description, the series “centers around a young Earthbender who discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. In this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”

The 26-episode 2D-animated series is split into Book 1 and Book 2, each consisting of 13 half-hour episodes.

The cast includes Saheli Khan as Pavi, Aishu Devan as Nisha, Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, Dianne Doan as Zi and Dee Bradley Baker as Geet and Ruhi. Baker previously voiced Appa and Momo in the original Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko co-create and executive produce alongside executive producer Ethan Spaulding and co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi.
