The Television Critics Association has announced the nominees for its 42nd Annual TCA Awards, with Heated Rivalry, Industry and Widow’s Bay leading the field with five nominations each. Winners will be announced later this summer.
The three series will face off in the Program of the Year category, where they’ll compete against last year’s winner The Pitt, plus Hacks, The Comeback, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Shrinking and Pluribus.
This year’s awards expand to 14 categories with two new additions: Outstanding Achievement in Animation and Outstanding Achievement in International Series. The Simpsons, South Park and Invincible are among the inaugural Animation nominees, while Squid Game, The Boyfriend and The House of the Spirits lead the International Series field.
In Individual Achievement in Drama, Industry stars Marisa Abela, Myha’la and Ken Leung will compete against Heated Rivalry leads Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, along with Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus), David Harbour (DTF St. Louis), Katherine LaNasa (The Pitt) and defending winner Noah Wyle (The Pitt). In Individual Achievement in Comedy, Matthew Rhys and Kate O’Flynn both received nominations for Widow’s Bay, where they’ll face Jean Smart (Hacks), Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), Harrison Ford (Shrinking), Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback), Elle Fanning (Margo’s Got Money Troubles) and Tim Robinson (The Chair Company).
In Outstanding Achievement in Reality, back-to-back champion The Traitors goes for a three-peat against Love on the Spectrum, Survivor, Couples Therapy and Top Chef, among others.
