Only Murders in the Building Season 6 is heading overseas for the first time, with the new season of the Hulu series filming in the UK.
Deadline confirmed the guest cast exclusively, with Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard and Sharon Horgan all set in recurring roles. Storyline details are being kept under wraps.
Why is Season 6 of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ set in the UK?
The UK setting makes sense given where Season 5 left off. In the finale, Charles, Oliver and Mabel hear a true-crime podcast about a red-haired woman accused of killing a royal descendant in London — only for that woman, revealed to be Cinda Canning herself, to stagger to the gates of the Arconia having been fatally attacked in connection to a London-based royal scandal.
Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez return as the crime-solving trio alongside Michael Cyril Creighton. It remains unclear which cast members will be returning, though long-time recurring star Da’Vine Joy Randolph has been spotted in social media posts from set, per Deadline. Season 5 featured Meryl Streep, Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest and Jermaine Fowler.
The guest cast skews heavily toward British talent, reflecting the season’s London setting.
Only Murders in the Building is co-created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Season 6 executive producers include Hoffman, Martin, Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith, Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan.
