‘Toy Story 5’ World Premiere: Taylor Swift Performs As Tom Hanks And More Appear

Disney and Pixar celebrated the world premiere of Toy Story 5 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with voice cast members Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack joined by director Andrew Stanton, producer Lindsey Collins and composer Randy Newman. The evening closed with a surprise performance from Taylor Swift, who performed the film’s new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff. Newman then joined Swift on stage for a duet of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

Also in attendance were voice cast members Conan O’Brien, Greta Lee, Craig Robinson and Tony Hale, as well as Scarlett Spears, Shelby Rabara, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Lori Alan, Jay Hernandez, Bonnie Hunt, Kristen Schaal, Wallace Shawn, Krys Marshall, Jeff Bergman, Blake Clark, Anna Vocino, Matty Matheson, John Ratzenberger and Melissa Villaseñor.

What is ‘Toy Story 5’ about?

According to the official description, the film finds Woody (Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), Jessie (Cusack) and the gang facing a new challenge when “Lilypad (Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie” enters their world. “Will playtime ever be the same?”

Toy Story 5 opens in theaters June 19.
