Cape Fear on Apple TV

How Many Episodes Is ‘Cape Fear’? Everything To Know About Apple TV’s Thriller

,

Apple TV celebrated the premiere of Cape Fear with a red carpet event at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Creator and showrunner Nick Antosca, stars and executive producers Amy Adams and Javier Bardem, and cast members Patrick Wilson, Lily Collias, Joe Anders, Malia Pyles, Anna Baryshnikov and Jamie Hector were all in attendance ahead of the series’ Friday debut.

What is ‘Cape Fear’ about?

According to the official description, the series follows married attorneys Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden (Wilson) whose lives are upended when Max Cady (Bardem), “the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance.” The series is inspired by Scorsese’s 1991 film and the 1957 novel The Executioners by John D. MacDonald.

On the red carpet, Bardem told Gold Derby that working with Scorsese and Spielberg as executive producers was a nerve-wracking experience. “They were hands-on,” he said, describing the first table read: “They brought this huge television. And we were like, ‘What is that?’ And then — boom! — Martin Scorsese shows up, just to hear the reading. Oh my God, the silence in the room. That was scary. To have to say my first line, as Max Cady, in front of Martin Scorsese. I was shaking. Like, how can I say anything in front of this master who [directed] the most amazing Max Cady?!”

Antosca told Variety earlier this year that the series “reflects the atmosphere of being alive in 2026, with its uncertainties and ambiguities and paranoia.”

How many episodes are in ‘Cape Fear’?

Cape Fear is a 10-episode limited series. The series is produced by UCP and Amblin Television, with Scorsese, Spielberg, Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and director Morten Tyldum executive producing.

When does ‘Cape Fear’ premiere?

Cape Fear debuts June 5 on Apple TV with two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday through July 31.
