Rachel Zegler’s Olivier Award-winning performance has found its Broadway home. Jamie Lloyd’s production of Evita, which played a sold-out run at the London Palladium last summer when it was on the West End, is transferring to the Winter Garden Theatre with preview performances beginning Feb. 27, 2027 and opening night set for March 25, 2027. Tickets go on sale to the general public June 1 at 10 a.m. ET.

The West End production earned Zegler the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical alongside Best Musical at the London Standard Theatre Awards and five WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best Musical Revival.

What is ‘Evita’ about?

Per the official description, the musical follows Eva Perón (Zegler), who “rose from poverty to become the most powerful woman in Latin America. A beacon of hope to some and a threat to others, her star shone brightly as she captured the nation’s heart and divided its soul.” The score includes “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina,” “Oh What A Circus,” “Another Suitcase in Another Hall” and the Oscar-winning “You Must Love Me.”

The London cast recording, featuring Zegler, is now streaming on all platforms. A full-length cast recording arrives in August 2026.

Evita on Broadway is produced by Jamie Lloyd for The Jamie Lloyd Company and Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals.

When does ‘Evita’ open on Broadway?

Evita begins previews Feb. 27, 2027 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York. Opening night is March 25, 2027.
