BritBox has unveiled its fall 2026 slate, anchored by the Sept. 15 premiere of Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence, alongside returning seasons of Ludwig, Death Valley, Time and Blue Lights.
What is ‘Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence’ about?
Per the official description, the series marks “the first contemporary English language Agatha Christie series adaptation,” following “the detective duo of the impulsive Tuppence (Antonia Thomas, The Good Doctor) and loveable try hard Tommy (Josh Dylan, The Buccaneers).” Per the official description, the series mixes “the screwball comedy and playful romance that made this crime solving couple beloved, with a cast representative of the energy of modern London.” The series stars Thomas, Dylan and Imelda Staunton, and premieres on Christie’s birthday, anchoring BritBox’s monthlong “Eras of Agatha Christie” celebration.
What is included in BritBox’s ‘Eras of Agatha Christie’ celebration?
The celebration features weekly curated collections spotlighting different sides of Christie’s work, including “A Taste for Poison,” “Secrets & Spies,” “Destination: Murder,” “Murders in the Village” and “Her Darker Side.” The lineup includes existing BritBox titles like Marple and Poirot, newer adaptations including Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?, Murder Is Easy and Towards Zero, and a selection of classic Warner Bros. films such as Murder Most Foul, The Alphabet Murders, Murder at the Gallop and Agatha Christie’s Thirteen at Dinner starring Faye Dunaway.
What returning series are part of BritBox’s fall slate?
Ludwig returns for Season 2 on Oct. 13, with David Mitchell back as police consultant John “Ludwig” Taylor, still searching for his missing brother James while working alongside Anna Maxwell Martin’s Lucy. Death Valley returns for Season 2 on Nov. 17, with Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth reprising their roles as Janie earns a promotion to detective inspector while her estranged father resurfaces.
Time returns for a third season, with David Tennant starring as a prison officer opposite Siobhan Finneran’s chaplain, and Blue Lights returns for a fourth season following Sian Brooke, Nathan Braniff and Katherine Devlin’s officers as they navigate a drug pipeline and rising anti-immigration violence in Northern Ireland. Premiere dates for both series are still to come.
What else is coming to BritBox this fall?
Showtrial Season 1 arrives Sept. 3, followed by Season 2 on Sept. 24. Monarch of the Glen Seasons 1-3 join the platform Sept. 9, and Cooper and Fry Season 1 premieres Sept. 10. Call the Midwife Season 15 arrives in Canada on Sept. 23, and Richard Osman’s House of Games Season 2 joins Sept. 28.
BritBox will also celebrate International Podcast Day on Sept. 30 with the release of all 20 episodes of On the Box: The BritBox Podcast, hosted by Edith Bowman and Michelle Collins, featuring guests including Hugh Bonneville, Ruth Jones, Brenda Blethyn, Sally Wainwright and Tom Ellis.
