‘The Five Star Weekend’ Renewed For Season 2 At Peacock As It Is Now Streamer’s Top Scripted Series Ever

Peacock has renewed The Five Star Weekend for a second season, with the Jennifer Garner-led series now standing as the streamer’s No. 1 scripted series of all time in overall reach, with 2.1 billion minutes watched. According to preliminary Nielsen data, the series ranked among the top five streaming original series during its first two weeks following its July 9 premiere.

Jennifer Garner said in a statement, “Regina, Chloe, Gemma, D’Arcy and I have had the best time talking to people about ‘Five Star Weekend.’ We’re so happy you love it as much as we loved making it for you.”

Creator and executive producer Bekah Brunstetter added, “It’s such a joy and privilege to create a world that people want to keep living in. I’m so thrilled by the chance to give fans of the show more time with the stars, and dig even further into these incredible characters.”

According to the official description, the series follows Hollis Shaw, “a famed cook and best-selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor, who suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’s picture-perfect life… In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life.”

The series stars Garner, D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Harlow Jane and Timothy Olyphant. Brunstetter serves as creator and executive producer alongside Sue Naegle, Ali Krug, Minkie Spiro, Garner and Elin Hilderbrand. The series is from Universal Global Television.
