Warner Bros. Pictures has released the trailer for Dune: Part Three, the conclusion to Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy. The film opens in theaters and IMAX in December. The trailer release coincides with a trailer launch/fan event that was held on Wednesday, where the footage was shown and a Q&A with Timothée Chalamet took place.
What is ‘Dune: Part Three’ about?
According to the official description, the film is “set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Now a ruthless Emperor, Paul must face the consequences of his reign as old allies return, terrifying new threats emerge, and betrayal lurks in every shadow. Haunted by visions of Imperial collapse and the reappearance of his long-lost love, Paul is drawn into a sweeping conspiracy, with Chani at the heart of its unfolding mystery. As rebellion brews and enemies close in, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves the most.”
Who stars in ‘Dune: Part Three’?
The cast includes Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach de Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson and Javier Bardem.
Villeneuve directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brian K. Vaughan, based on the novels by Frank Herbert. Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Joe Caracciolo produce. Behind the camera, Villeneuve is joined by Oscar-winning director of photography Linus Sandgren, production designer Patrice Vermette, editor Joe Walker and composer Hans Zimmer.
When does ‘Dune: Part Three’ open in theaters?
Dune: Part Three opens in theaters and IMAX across North America Dec. 18, with international release beginning Dec. 16.
