Apple TV has released the trailer for The Dink, a new comedy starring Jake Johnson, Mary Steenburgen and Ed Harris. It is produced by Ben Stiller. The film premieres this summer on Apple TV.
What is ‘The Dink’ about?
According to the official description, the film follows Dusty Boyd (Johnson), a “washed up former tennis prodigy” reduced to “coaching unruly children at his father Chuck’s (Harris) suburban country club.” After Dusty reaggravates an old injury that takes away his ability to play tennis, he tries pickleball and, thanks in part to his new partner Candace (Mary Steenburgen), finds himself “actually enjoying it.” The film follows Dusty as he’s “forced to finally face the ghosts of his past athletic failures, including his childhood nemesis, Andy Roddick,” who appears as himself.

Alongside Johnson and Harris, the cast includes Steenburgen, Stiller, Patton Oswalt, Chloe Fineman, Chris Parnell, Aaron Chen and Andy Roddick.
Directed by Josh Greenbaum from a script written by Sean Clements. Stiller produces alongside John Lesher, Rob Paris, Mike Witherill and Johnson.
When does ‘The Dink’ premiere?
The Dink premieres July 24 on Apple TV.
